Selling Your Home During a Pandemic

How to Sell Your Home During a Pandemic

Make sure your Real Estate Agent has a professional virtual tour and a personal video walk through of your home. Have all Buyers watch these two things and read the Seller's Disclosure Statement before making an appointment to see your home in person. All Buyers shoudl be pre-qualified for a mortgage loan to avoid having looky-loos walking through your home. You really only want serious Buyers visiting your home.

Don't plan on having any open houses while the virus is still active in your community.

Ask your Listing Agent for a "Carona Virus Showing Kit" which should include sanitizer, booties and gloves for people to use during showings.

Before a home showing, clean and disenfect high-touch areas, like countertops amd doorknobs, and leave all lights on to avoid people needing to touch your light switches. Also leave interior doors and closet doors open to avoid touches on these. Put a note on the exterior of the front door requesting people to remove their shoes and use the booties that are provided.

Make hand sanitizer, soap and paper towels available with signs encouraging hand washing.

Once the showing is over, clean and disenfect thoroughly to lower you and your familiy's exposure risk to whatever Buyers have brought in with them.

Many Sellers have followed these general guidelines even before a Pandemic made these strategies necessary.

Happy Selling!!
